  2. Mauldin's latest is well worth a read. I think we're starting to see how things could come unraveled.

  3. This guy thinks he's invincible.

"I.M.F. Head IS Arrested and Accused of Sexual Attack". - NYTimes.com

The leader of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn was arrested at John F. Kennedy Int. airpot accused of attacking a hotel maid....

Invincible, because he thinks he can get away with making poor judgements. He's too big to fail(o.k. too important too let go).

In 2008, had an affair with a junior employee, while married. The Fund decided to stand by him despite concluding that he showed poor judgement.

  4. @Emmy,

    Thanks for the links.

Re, "Warning signals from the oil inventory report", the author highlights decreasing U.S. oil consumption. Good to know. No mention of Asian tigers.

  5. John Mauldin's letter,"Kicking the can to the end of the road", if there is no road left, build more.

    Talks about Greece and Ireland.

Massive corruption and tax evasion highlighed by Michael Lewis's Oct. 2010 article in Vanityfair.

    Incredible.

"If the law was enforced", the tax collector said, "every doctor in Greece would be in jail". Courts take more than 15 years to resolve cases.

"Everyone is pretty sure everyone is cheating on his taxes or bribing politicians or taking bribes or lying about the value of his real estate".

And investors poured hundreds of billions of dollars into this sink hole?

I wonder how many more PIGS are out there? Like from emerging markets.

Whatever happened to that Bank of Kabul - where Karzai' brother was involved and Dubai?

    End game!

  6. There goes DSK's chance at being President de la Republique.

  7. @Emmy,10:39PM:yeah.

However, there may be something fishy about this case of attempted rape. Hard to believe that a man who's been head of IMF since 2007, and who has good chances of taking over French presidency in 2012, would ruin his life by abusing a maid in a New York hotel...

On the other hand, it's my understanding that sexual offenders experience short blind impulses where they become totally oblivious of reality. Maybe the case for DSK.

  8. Maybe he just got tired of raping sheeps, needed some new experience.

  9. @Emmanuel117:

Great articles. I am plowing through them.

    RE: inflation @Mannwich:
As a treat for myself last night for dinner, I bought your namesake. I haven't had you for dinner since, maybe, when I was 22. You're just as good as always.

However, I paid $7.95 for a can, and $14.70 for 400g of ground beef (about 1 pound, more or less).

So, sorry, pal, it's going to be a long long long time before I taste your namesake again.

  11. But Rock, Manwiches are more then a meal....

But $23 just to make them and that does not include the bun, drinks or any sides.

We have them about 4-5 times a year (Once every couple months more or less) and are able to do it far less otherwise we would not be making them. If you are ever in this neck of the woods you will have to come over so we can have Mannwiches.
