@I Can: I have a hard time accepting that we can "afford to pay for bailouts" but not "afford to pay for social security". Sacrifice? By whom? Real leaders set the tone and lead by example.
This the people "must sacrifice" meme is so galling on so many fronts. Am I the only that gets irritated by it? Go where the money is, at the top, for Christ's sake.
In that Julien Robertson video, there is a commercial regarding American debt(from China's point of view). I don't know who's behind that and what's it's purpose. When I saw that, I thought of what Mutt was saying this morning. Just different points of view I guess.

ReplyDeleteI agree that there should be no reduction in social security, but he did say he was willing to pay estate taxes - abolished by Bush(?).
Also, big banks shouldn't have been bailed out.
