  2. Top EU court backs Commission over staff pay rise

The EU's top court has backed the European Commission's bid to boost pay for EU staff by 3.7%, instead of the 1.85% that the member states wanted.

    (...)

The judges, who are also on the EU payroll,(...)

Seeing how great EU has performed lately, I find it unfair they don't get bonuses on top of pay rise.

  4. I got stuck in a wiki-loop last night reading about Heritage Turkeys. Not to be confused with wild turkey's which are not endangered. Heritage turkeys were the Turkeys that people used to eat before the modern food industry got it's hands on them. Modern manufactured turkeys have far more breast meat than the heritage turkey. They also can hardly walk, cannot reproduce, and have a whole host of other health issues.

Lucky us. I think next year we'll try to get a heritage turkey. Anyone ever had one?

  6. @Thor,

We have wild turkey in the bush around our property. Very trim, fast birds. Females lay their eggs on the ground, but do take flight up the maple trees when they percieve danger. Some hunters wanted to lay their "hands" on them. My mother is vegan, and refused. I am sure the hunters must have taken down a few.

  7. Market opening red on EU concerns. Shoppers out on full force. DXY broken the downtrend.

If U.S. economy is so bad, where do people get money to shop?. They can be bailed out later too? Max the credit card and declare bankruptcy, financially and morally.

  11. Morning all! We used to have a wild turkey here in the neighborhood that roamed around near the lake. My wife and I would often see him waiting at the door step of one of the neighbors waiting for food. Haven't seen him around in a while though.

  12. On the "wild" animal note, saw a coyote the other day in one of the nearby park preserves while with the dogs. Pretty cool to see. I'd seen plenty of deer in there but never a coyote. Glad the dogs were on their leashes, but what was interesting is neither even flinched and must have just figured they were seeing another "dog".

The global "No banker left behind" program continues unabated. When/how will it all end?

  23. Thor - The Wild Turkey I was talking about is 101 proof whisky, ahghghghgh Some things just can't be undone.

No real wild turnkeys, there was a bald eagle that nested by the freeway though and that was quite a site to see as it soared above the cars.

  28. Apparently Socialy UnexceptableNovember 26, 2010 at 2:01 PM

Well apparently it is socially unexceptable to go to relatives houses for Thanksgiving and read a book at the table...

Sheesh, it wasn't like the conversation was THAT interesting and besides it was the newest Spider man comic - Who doesn't like Spider Man?

Oh well hopefully my wife will get over it, but she did say she is hiding my entire comic book collection from me :(

  29. Out looking for a new car today (LA has not been kind to my Volvo).

Not very busy at the Ford dealership. Sales guy said cars are selling, but slowly. Trucks aren't selling at all here anymore apparently.
